PHONE PHOTOS

Getting phone photos into one PDF

Most JPG files come from a phone camera. A few habits make the finished PDF easier to read.

Shoot the page flat

Hold the phone straight above the page and fill the frame with it. The PDF shows exactly what the photo shows, the desk around the page included.

Sideways photos

Phones note which way up a photo was taken, and that note is applied. The thumbnails show each photo the way its page will look.

File size

Photos are not shrunk, so the PDF is about as large as the photos added together, up to 50 MB. For a large PDF, a share link works better than an email attachment.

Photos sent through chat apps

Chat apps often shrink photos before passing them on. If small print looks soft in the thumbnail, ask for the original file.

iPhone HEIC photos

HEIC isn't accepted yet. Set Settings > Camera > Formats to Most Compatible, or share the photos as JPG before you add them.

Why people use this tool

For when you have a handful of JPG photos and need to send them as one document.

One page per photo

Each JPG becomes its own page at its own size, so nothing is cropped or squeezed to fit a paper size.

The order you choose

Drag the thumbnails or use the arrow buttons. The PDF follows the numbers on the thumbnails, page 1 first.

Photos kept as they are

An upright JPG goes into the PDF unchanged, with no second round of compression. Only a photo the phone marked as sideways is turned and saved once at high quality.

Page order you can see

Every thumbnail carries its page number. Move a thumbnail and the number follows, so the PDF matches the list.

Upright pages

Phone photos come out the right way up: the rotation the camera recorded is applied before the page is made.

No watermark, no account

The PDF is yours as it comes out: no stamp on the pages and nothing to sign up for.

HOW IT WORKS

How to convert JPG to PDF

Four steps in the browser. Nothing to install and no account, and the images end up as one PDF.

01

Add your JPG files

Choose photos from your device or drop them here, up to 20. On a phone you can take a photo straight away.

02

Put them in order

Drag the thumbnails, or use the arrow buttons. Remove any photo you don't need.

03

Create the PDF

Press Create PDF. The photos are uploaded and joined into one file, one page each.

04

Download it

Save the PDF within the hour. After that the PDF and your photos are deleted.

What the PDF contains

Your images, one per page, in the order you set. Nothing else is added to the pages.

In the PDF

One PDF file with a page for every image you added.

One page per image

Every image becomes exactly one page, and page n is the image numbered n in your list.

Each image at its own size

Pages take the shape of their image. Nothing is cropped, stretched or fitted to a paper size.

Upright JPGs untouched

A JPG that is already upright is placed in the PDF byte for byte. A photo marked as sideways is turned and saved once at high quality.

The right way up

The rotation a phone camera records is applied, so a photo taken sideways gives an upright page.

Not included

What this converter does not do.

No text layer

The pages are pictures. You can't select, copy or search their text; there is no OCR in this step.

No page settings

There are no page size, margin or compression options. A4 or Letter pages are not available yet.

About image PDFs

A PDF made from images stores each image as a page. The words in it stay part of the picture.

Check the page order in the list before you create the PDF: the file follows the numbers exactly.

QUESTIONS

JPG to PDF questions

Answers to common questions about JPG to PDF.

Do I get one PDF or one per photo?

One PDF. Every JPG becomes one page of the same file, in the order shown in the list.

Will my photos lose quality?

Mostly not. A JPG that is already upright goes into the PDF unchanged. A photo the phone marked as sideways is turned and saved once at high quality, so it can differ very slightly from the original.

Can I choose A4 or Letter pages, or add margins?

Not yet. Each photo becomes a page at its own size, with no margins. Page size and margin settings are not available in this release.

My photo shows sideways on my computer. Will the page be sideways?

No. Phones record which way up a photo was taken, and that is applied, so each page comes out the way the thumbnail shows it.

Can I search or copy the text in the PDF?

No. The PDF holds pictures of your pages, with no text layer and no OCR. To get the words out of a photo, use Photo to Text.

How long can I download the PDF?

For one hour after it is made. The PDF and your photos are deleted after that.
