MIXED IMAGES

Mixing photos, screenshots and scans

Images from different places make pages of different sizes. Here is what to expect.

Different page sizes

Every page matches its image. Viewers show the pages one under another, so a screenshot next to a photo can look narrower. That is expected.

PNG screenshots

PNG keeps the text in a screenshot crisp, and it goes into the PDF without loss. Transparent areas show as the viewer's page background.

Order across sources

Images join the list in the order you add them, pasted and camera images included. Check the numbers before you create the PDF.

Big scans

Images up to 25 megapixels and 20 MB each are accepted, with 50 MB for the whole PDF. A larger scan needs saving at a lower resolution first.

Images only

Only JPG and PNG images can be added. PDF files and HEIC photos need saving as JPG or PNG before you add them.

Why people use this tool

For when the pages you need are spread across photos, screenshots and scans.

JPG and PNG together

Add both formats in one go. Screenshots, scans and phone photos can sit side by side in the same PDF.

Paste a screenshot

Copied an image? Press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac) or use Paste image, and it joins the end of the list.

Pages keep their shape

A tall phone screenshot and a wide scan each get a page that fits them, with no white bands added around them.

Page order you can see

Every thumbnail carries its page number. Move a thumbnail and the number follows, so the PDF matches the list.

Upright pages

Phone photos come out the right way up: the rotation the camera recorded is applied before the page is made.

No watermark, no account

The PDF is yours as it comes out: no stamp on the pages and nothing to sign up for.

HOW IT WORKS

How to combine images into one PDF

Four steps in the browser. Nothing to install and no account, and the images end up as one PDF.

01

Add your images

Drop JPG and PNG files here, choose them from your device, or paste a copied image.

02

Arrange the pages

The number on each thumbnail is its page. Drag to reorder, or move a thumbnail with its arrow buttons.

03

Make one PDF

When the order looks right, choose Create PDF. Each image becomes one page, in the order shown.

04

Save the file

Download the PDF and keep your copy. It is deleted from our server an hour after it is made.

What the PDF contains

Your images, one per page, in the order you set. Nothing else is added to the pages.

In the PDF

One PDF file with a page for every image you added.

One page per image

Every image becomes exactly one page, and page n is the image numbered n in your list.

Each image at its own size

Pages take the shape of their image. Nothing is cropped, stretched or fitted to a paper size.

Upright JPGs untouched

A JPG that is already upright is placed in the PDF byte for byte. A photo marked as sideways is turned and saved once at high quality.

The right way up

The rotation a phone camera records is applied, so a photo taken sideways gives an upright page.

Not included

What this converter does not do.

No text layer

The pages are pictures. You can't select, copy or search their text; there is no OCR in this step.

No page settings

There are no page size, margin or compression options. A4 or Letter pages are not available yet.

About image PDFs

A PDF made from images stores each image as a page. The words in it stay part of the picture.

Check the page order in the list before you create the PDF: the file follows the numbers exactly.

QUESTIONS

Image to PDF questions

Answers to common questions about Image to PDF.

Can I mix JPG and PNG files?

Yes. Add JPG and PNG images in any mix, up to 20 in one PDF. Each image becomes one page.

How do I put the pages in order?

Drag the thumbnails, or use the arrow buttons under each one. Page 1 is the first thumbnail, and the PDF follows the numbers you see.

Why are my pages different sizes?

Each image gets a page that fits it, so a phone photo and a wide screenshot make pages of different shapes. There are no page size or margin settings yet.

How many images can I add?

Up to 20 images per PDF, each up to 20 MB and 25 megapixels, and 50 MB in total. The service takes 10 uploads a minute, so a set of more than 10 waits for the next minute, and the page shows the countdown.

Can I make the PDF searchable?

Not on this page. The pages are images, so their text can't be selected or searched. To get a PDF you can search, run your images through PDF OCR for searchable PDFs. To pull the words out of your images, use Image to Text.

What happens to my images?

They are sent over an encrypted connection and joined into your PDF. Download it within the hour: the PDF and your images are deleted after that.
